Last summer NOLA4x4 worked along with Diamond C who went the extra mile to help Villalobos Rescue Center, the home of Pitbulls & Parolees. When asked how we could help they expressed their need for a fence. NOLA4x4 members collected material and scheduled work days to come install the fence. This was covered and aired on the Discovery Channel and written about on JK Forum. Click on the image or go to:
What is a Dog Dash you ask?
When the 4 wheeling community puts on an event it pulls out all the stops!
Dog Dash was a multi-city poker run style happening that put 4 wheel drive vehicles all over three cities to kick off the event which finished at New Orleans Motorsport Park where there was more great fun for a worthy cause. Our vehicles traveled in packs from Metairie, through the French Quarter and into Gretna, quite a sight to see.
Once at New Orleans Motorsport Park members and guest enjoyed a challenging obstacle course, activities for the kids and a great day of coming together for a worthy cause. All profits were donated to Villalobos Rescue Center. There were over $8000 in prizes that were raffled off. All prizes were donated by vendors who support the 4 wheel drive community.
Where the Wheels Meet the Woods
NOLA4x4 has really enjoyed working with Sheriff Daniels on this annual event which raises fund to support Bar D Outdoors, the phenomenal site for off-roading, which in turn supports Sheriff Daniels in his efforts to get the physically challenged outdoors.
This is a two day event that involves wheeling and fellowship of the like minded. Even if you just want to watch off-roading there's something for you!
Toys for Tots
NOLA4x4 has made some great friends in the 4 wheel drive community and one we are proud of is 4 Wheel Parts.
We teamed up with 4 Wheel parts this Christmas season to collect toys for Toys for Tots. We supplied volunteers and donated two bikes to this now Christmas tradition that was started by the United States Marine Corps.
Riding for the 22
An average of 22 veterans a day take their own life by suicide according to the Veterans Administration. This summer NOLA4x4 members teamed up with Ride for the 22 and Mission 22 to help raise awareness to this unacceptable number.
Members convoyed together to Baton Rouge, then to Port Hudson National Cemetery where they place pennies on the graves of those who fought for our freedom. They then convoyed to St. Francisville, LA for phenomenal food and fellowship!
Trunk or Treat
Along with our great sponsor, Bergeron Chrysler Dodge Jeep, NOLA4x4 members decorated their rigs and handed out candy in a safe environment for little goblins.
It was a great event for young and old with free music and food.
